Programming Edison.
Create and run your own programs for Edison using our free browser-based or downloadable applications. The unique way that Edison transfers data to the robot using sound output means that almost any device with a standard headphone jack can be used – PC, Mac, Chromebook, iPad, Android and Raspberry Pi are all supported.
Edison can be programmed using EdWare, a graphical drag-and-drop language or EdPy which is based on the popular Python text-based language.
Works with LEGO bricks.
LEGO bricks can be connected to the top, bottom and sides of Edison as well as to the wheels allowing you to build your own designs on the base robot. You can even use LEGO bricks to connect two or more Edison robots together!
Each Edison is supplied with an EdComm download cable for use with PC, Mac, Chromebook, iPad, Android or Raspberry Pi. 4x AAA batteries are required (not included).

Good affordable robot

Bought it for a 5 year old for xmas - he loves it. The batteries last less than 2-3 hours which is a disappointment. Not all rechargeable batteries work in it or work only 30-60 seconds probably due to high current drain. So we don't have new batteries now. We need to buy and try new batteries so now the robot is currently useless sitting at a shelf. It took us 1 day to go though all exercises and I realized the robot is more simple than the hype around it but it's still a good educational tool. We need to experiment more with attaching it to lego parts and with the programming app.
