The SafeSkin pre-collision detection system incorporates Dobot's proprietary technology that senses for changes in the electromagnetic field, eliminating the need for vision sensors. The SafeSkin can detect foreign objects that come within 15cm of range and respond within 0.1 seconds to ensure safety. The elastic silicone wrap of the SafeSkin system is designed for easy installation and transfer to other robots. Covering the entire front portion of the robotic arm, it provides 360-degree obstacle detection from all directions, ensuring optimal safety. When the robot is powered off, the soft silicone wrap acts as a physical cushion, protecting both the robot and any colliding objects. This innovative design enhances safety and versatility, making it a valuable addition to any collaborative robotic setup.
