This hygrostat/humidistat is designed for the monitoring and control of the relative humidity of an enclosed space. When the device senses dew formation or condensation on cooled objects and the value exceeds an approximate limit of 94% RH, the controller opens a relay contact and trips a safety function static switch contact. The resultant output signal may thus be used to operate a heater/dehumidifier, etc.
The unit contains a special sensor that has logarithmic characteristics meaning it it is possible to regulate relative humidity at very close to the dew point, maximising cooling performance without the risk of condensate formation. The unit is highly reliable and the electronics are protected against overvoltage, reverse polarity and faulty connections. A sinter filter over the sensor element protects it from accumulated dust so that the unit may be operated for many years without the need for cleaning or maintenance.
Suitable applications for this unit include water treatment plants, display windows, swimming halls, cold pipeline networks, building post-maintenance tests and other areas where humidity control is required.
