Bringing STEM to life at Bett 2017

Bringing STEM to life at Bett 2017
Rapid Education is delighted to be bringing 'STEM to life' at Bett 2017, the UK's leading educational technology event, which takes place at Excel London from January 25-28.

We will be exhibiting on stand D360, where visitors can try out robotics, 3D printing and programming products. You can get involved with a variety of robotics platforms, including VEX EDR and VEX IQ. Experts from VEX Robotics and RoboMatter, the creators of the ROBOTC programming language, will be on hand to demonstrate their products and answer any questions you may have. Don't forget that the Modkit and ROBOTC programming languages are now completely free for Rapid customers to use.

If you've never printed anything in 3D before, the UP BOX 3D printer and UP Mini 2 will be available to use. It's also a first chance to get a look at our full range of educational robots for all abilities, including Dobot, a brand new robotic arm with incredibly accurate and repeatable movements. Of course, no visit to the Rapid Education stand would be complete without meeting our robots NAO and Pepper (pictured below), who is making her Bett debut and sure to be an in-show sensation.

Pepper"We are excited to be working with VEX Robotics again this year which will make for a really fun, interactive stand", said Chris Calver, Education Manager at Rapid. "The VEX IQ Challenge has grown so much since we were at Bett last year and we hope our VEX IQ displays will inspire more schools to join us in 2017."

"One thing that has become really clear over the last few years is that there is a huge variance in the experience and skill sets in schools when it comes to programming and coding", said Calver. "I’m confident that we have addressed this by offering a wide range of products and resources to get your students programming, whatever the age or skill level. For absolute beginners, the Ozobot is the perfect low-cost solution which can be used to bridge the gap into more advanced robots like VEX IQ."

"If 3D printing is your thing, come and take a look at the UP Mini 2, a low cost, feature packed 3D printer from Tiertime. Rapid is an official distributor in the UK and offers full warranty and service backup for the full range of UP 3D printers.”
