30 January 2012 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 60-4598
Q. I have an MI-SS-106L and wish to connect it whereby it is triggered by a transistor on a bread board. How do i connect it? Thanks
A. Thanks for your enquiry. Due to the pin spacing dimensions you will struggle to insert this directly into a breadboard. I would suggest you solder wire leads to the relay pins and then use it as a remotely connected device by inserting the other end of the wire connections into the breadboard. This also has the advantage of not needing to have the load via the breadboard so you can use mains ( with suitable safety precautions). Ideally you can use a relay base to ensure better connections and for improved safety. Unfortunately we do not have bases for these style of relay. If this method suits you better I would suggest getting another relay that has a matching base available such as order codes 60-0905 (12VDC – other voltages available ) and 60-1730. They would also have to be remotely connected but would be much safer to use – particularly for a mains load
