Antex Electric Hot Knife for Polystyrene and Zote Sheets

<p>An electric hot knife, ideal for cutting thin Zote and expanded polystyrene sheet. The blade part of the tip is 25mm long allowing material up to that thickness to be easily and cleanly cut. Cutting from both sides enables material up to 50mm thick to be cut.</p>

A. Hi Parag, thank you for your question. This is unlikely to be suitable as it is only designed to hot cut Zote and expanded Polystyrene sheet.

Q. Hi Would this knife be suitable for cutting 4mm corex?
A. Hi Stephen. Thank you for your question. This Antex Hot Knife should cut Corex however it is not stated by the manufacturer. The knife would need regular cleaning to ensure continual cutting and to ensure a longer life for the tip.

Q. Would the knife be suitable for cutting polyester fabric to leave a sealed, fray resistant, edge?
A. Hi Andy. Thank you for your question. This hot knife is designed to cut thin expanded polystyrene, as such we would not recommend it for your application as it will more than likely melt the fabric than cut it.

A. Hi Neil. Thank you for your question. This would cut through thick candle wax however, it may take a bit of time due to the thickness of the wax and may not be a straight through cut but would do what is required.

A. Hi Tracie. Thank you for your question. This is very unlikely to last long and would not work for this task. A better option would be 85-1019 which has a hot tip option.

Q. Would this be suitable for cutting polypropylene woven weed control fabric?
A. Hi, thanks for your question. We have not tried doing this, but cannot see any reason why not in principle. But this fabric would be denser than the expanded polystyrene mentioned, so may not get hot enough to work well.

A. Thanks for your query Bill - I'm afraid the cutting tip of this knife if only 25mm long so it would not be suitable for your needs.
