Q. I am considering using 4 or 6 of these in parallel and running them from a 12V battery such as a gel cell or lead acid. I note however the max voltage is 11.8 this is close to the proposed supply voltage and the battery I’m sure will drop down while in use but would this still be too much would I need to provide a regulating circuit to bring the voltage down to 10V

A. Hi Alisdair, thanks for your question. A small resistor would be required to drop the voltage down to the required voltage. Whilst they would be ok to run, running these at a higher voltage would possibly reduce their life.
