A first buy or for hobby use

The magnifier is OK if you have not used one before, or don't need to use one for long periods. For this sort of use the optics and general build quality are OK. But if you are wanting something to use all day long, look elsewhere and expect to pay a lot more. There are two ways to use the easily changed lenses. The first is to change them for different tasks The second is to establish a good (for the individual) magnification before spending on an expensive model. The light in the top is a joke. It is a filament lamp that rapidly discharges the AAA cells. But for <£20, if your expectaions are realistic, you can't go wrong.
