Analog Devices ADUM1200ARZ 2 Channel Digital Isolator IC SOIC8

The ADuM1200ARZ is a dual-channel digital isolator that works using the patented iCoupler technology that uses transformer isolation as the method of transferring information across the isolation barrier. Employing micro-transformer coils, changes in current in the windings on one side of the barrier are induced into the windings on the other side of the barrier. There are many advantages in using transformer isolation instead of optoisolation, giving cost, size, power, performance and reliability benefits in a product that is a safe and easy to use alternative to optocouplers.

Suitable applications for this device include: size-critical multichannel isolation, SPI interface/data converter isolation, RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 transceiver isolation, digital field bus isolation, hybrid electric vehicles, battery monitor, and motor drive.
