The Workshop Base Kit with Arduino board is a selection of all the components and parts necessary to participate in an introductory Arduino Workshop and start building your Arduino project.

Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software with a growing community of designers, programmers, and builders.

Arduino is intended for hobbyists, designers, artists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. The boards come preassembled and the software can be downloaded for free from the Arduino Website. The hardware reference designs (CAD files) are available under an open-source license and can be modified to suit the needs of your project.

Arduino can sense its environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can, in turn, affect its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators. The microcontroller on the board is programmed using the Arduino programming language (based on Wiring) and the Arduino development environment (based on Processing). Arduino projects can be stand-alone or they can communicate with software running on a computer (e.g. Flash, Processing, MaxMSP).

The workshop kit was designed to be used in conjunction with the Getting Started With Arduino 2nd Edition book (97-2104) that is available here.

Additionally, Arduino provides a great wealth or resources to help you get started building your own Arduino Projects including:

Q. Please could you let me know the pin-out of the tilt sensor included in this kit as i cant find it anywhere! also do you sell these separately? Thank you very much!
A. Hi Gus. Thank you for your question. Attached is the data sheet for the tilt switch - it is simply just two contacts that open and close so can be used either way round.
