Excellent value
Bought with Dremel Workstation and used almost entirely on this. Not used it freehand at all. It fitted the workstation perfectly which I have reviewed separately and can be fitted and removed quickly and easily. Unfortunately the collet nut supplied was out of true and drills wobbled when I tried to use it. A quick call to Rapid and I received a replacement plus 4 extra collets within a few days. So well done Rapid excellent service. The drill performs very well and drills holes accurately in hardwood to a depth of about 10 mm. The power is easily sufficient for this but I think would struggle with harder metals. The sliding speed switch which is notched is easily pushed too far on to the highest speed so use with care. I think a rotary switch might be better. However it does have an `Off` which is very useful. In operation it is quite noisy but little vibration and seems powerful enough for most small projects. The largest collet is only 3.2 mm so keep the speed high, the feed slow and the depth of cut small and use on soft materials and it will work well. I would not recommend it for model engineering or clock making. I have not had it long enough to comment on its reliability but with a 2 year guarantee this should not be a problem. Overall a good product offering good value for money.
