Question by: Product code: 55-2239

Q. Hi I am planning to convert a couple of 12v Ray boxes from halogen to white LED, 55-2239. I calculated that I would need a 22 ohm resister, 4 watt.. Would you agree, and what resistor would you recommend.

A. Hi John, thank you for your question. 22 ohm would be suitable, something like 62-0250.

Question by: Product code: 55-2239

Q. I'm planning on using the white LED with a 9V battery to make a simple torch what resistor would you recommend?

A. Hi Craig. Thank you for your question. A 30 ohm resistor would be suitable, something like 62-8328 would do the job.

Question by: Product code: 55-2239

Q. Is there a heat conducting adhesive that can be used to fasten these LEDs onto a metal substrate?

A. Hi Chris. Thank you for your question. We actually list the PCB star heat sink for this LED (55-1991) which requires just bolting on with heat sink compound. Failing that we list a Loctite adhesive kit on 87-0328.

Q. Which driver would you use to drive just one of these LEDs and if a resistor is needed which would you recommend? Regards Neil

A. Hi Neil, we would recommend 55-2224. This would require a resistor, the value would depend on what colour LED you are using. https://www.rapidonline.com/12V-Constant-Current-LED-Driver-300mA-AC-DC-55-2224
