This display unit features OLED technology to produce a device that is lightweight and has better power efficiency, wider viewing angles and improved brightness over conventional LCD displays. Unlike most displays that only have two, Winstar displays have four character sets: Western, Japanese, Cyrillic and Chinese. This display has white characters on a black background with the overall dimensions of 80 x 36 x 10mm.

I've been waiting for something that was a feasible option to replace a character VFD display that is also self illuminating as I think that anything needing a backlight is not the answer. These character OLED displays meet my expectations. Self illuminating, smooth characters, wide viewing angle, no need for a filter to get the right color (needed for VFD), no need for a backlight (LCD needs this), and unbelievable contrast since only the characters are ever lit, nothing to bleed through as is the case with LCD character displays. As far as service, I received these displays in just a few days on this side of the planet.

This display is white-on-black, there's a very slight blueish tint. It comes in an industry-standard form factor and has a HD44870-compatible driver. Excellent readability in both day and night conditions and low power draw.
