A. Hi Jim. Thank you for your question. The plug has a ring that has a thread. The plug is designed to screw onto the mounting thread of a suitable socket such as 20-0131. They only lock onto that type of socket. The panel thickness must be small to allow some thread to extend from the socket once the nut is in place.
