This photoelectric sensor uses energetic-diffuse sensing in order to detect slight variations in target colour. This means that the sensor can be used for applications where counting or sorting of objects on the basis of colour or variations in colour is required. The sensor has 3x colour teach channels with independent outputs and 5x switchable tolerance levels for each colour shade, so that the sensor may be set up to reliably detect fine colour variations, even in harsh environments.
