A pair of syphon tubes with bulb-type priming pump from Rolson. Once the syphon is primed, liquid will flow until the level falls below the bottom of the inlet pipe or until the bleed valve, located on the pump bulb, is opened destroying the syphon action.

Q. would this be suitable for emptying water( and small sludge) from a small fixed fishpond waterfall basin.?
A. Hi J Watson, thank you for your question. We see no problem with using this as long as the tube(s) do not get blocked with too much debris.

Slightly too cheap

I had to put three turns of PTFE tape around the red bulb to seal to the valve assembly. (Doesn't matter to me, I cut the input leg off and dunk the whole thing in the bath.) Conveniently you can add a garden hose fitting (e.g. 91-6832) if you trim the output end and pad it with a sleeve. Good for syphoning bath down to garden, or driving the squirt gun from a paddling pool. Red bulb seems to take a strong squeezing, but white lines are showing. I have a spare...
