A Ø14mm metal oxide disk varistor with an operating voltage of 130V AC. The device is a voltage-dependent resistor whose resistance decreases as voltage increases. When connected in parallel with the component or circuit requiring protection the varistor forms a low-resistance shunt, preventing any rise in surge overvoltage. The varistor is a proven protective device due to its application flexibility and high reliability.
