The government introduces a Workplace Charging Scheme for state-funded education institutions

The Workplace Charging Scheme has been introduced to offer a grant specifically tailored for state-funded education institutions to facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles by supporting the purchase, installation, and infrastructure of electric vehicle charge points.

This grant is designed to assist state-funded schools and education institutions in installing electric vehicle charge point sockets on their premises. Typically, installations incur costs ranging from £1,500 to £2,500, depending on the location and type of installation.

Eligible applicants can receive a discount of 75% off the total cost of purchasing and installing charge points, up to a maximum of £2,500 per socket or 40 sockets across all sites, including any previous applications made through the Workplace Charging Scheme.

To apply for the grant, applicants must confirm their eligibility by completing the application form and adhering to the specified criteria outlined in the rules. Upon successful application, applicants will receive a voucher code via email, which serves as confirmation of the grant.
