Rapid mobile site

We have tried to make finding your way around our mobile website - m.rapidonline.com- as intuitive an experience as possible. Many aspects of searching, browsing and buying products will be similar to our desktop site, but there are some differences which we explain below.

Searching for Products

The search facility is available via clicking the magnifying glass search icon at the top right hand of the site. The sidebar expands, and category and product suggestions will appear as you type your search term. Simply click on the search icon (the one by the basket, not by the search box) to collapse the sidebar and move back into the main body of the site.

Filtering your Search Results

After your search results are returned, they can be refined by clicking the Filter button or search icon to open up the expandable search sidebar. You can filter by category, brand or price, and by selected parameters relevant to the products.

Browsing the Product Categories

If you are on the homepage, click on the ‘Browse Products’ link, or on any other page click on the icon on the top left hand of the screen. The main category titles will now expand on the left hand side, and you can browse back and forth through the various tiers and product pages

Changing your Settings

You can change your currency, VAT and image preferences while you browse by clicking the ‘Settings’ link at the bottom of the screen.

The mobile website offers users a streamlined version of the main website, with the focus on searching, browsing and buying products.

Not yet. Many of the tools and services available on the main website are not available on the mobile version, although these are expected to be added as the site develops.

Yes. Whether you are accessing m.rapidonline.com on a tablet, smartphone or kindle, it has been designed and optimized to be compatible with all widely used 3G-enabled mobile devices.

How do I navigate to it?

Whether you have bookmarked https://www.rapidonline.com/ or navigate to the homepage from search results on the web browser of your mobile device, you will be immediately redirected to https://m.rapidonline.com/.

When I try to visit Rapid pages on my mobile device why am I sent to the desktop site?

At present only the homepage and product pages are mobile compatible. The site has been designed to facilitate browsing and buying, and to make this process as quick and easy as possible. So if you are clicking on a link to other www.rapidonline.com pages on a mobile device, you will be directed to the desktop version.

I have built a basket on www.rapidonline.com. Will I be able to access it on the mobile site?

Yes. As soon as you log in to your account on the mobile site you will be able to view the contents of your current basket. Any changes you make to your basket on the mobile site will be reflected on the desktop site, and vice versa. Simply refresh the page to see the updated basket.

Will I still be able to download datasheets and view product videos?

Yes. Datasheets are available on the mobile site by opening the +Datasheets tab on the product pages. Video content is available to be viewed by clicking the ‘Watch Video’ button on the +Description tab of the product pages.

Can I add delivery addresses, edit my contact details and view my order history?

Yes. Other account options and preference settings will be added as the site develops.

Will I still receive end column pricing?

Yes, if your online account has been set up this way. Account settings such as pricing plans and carriage terms that apply on the desktop site will be valid on mobile.
