The Arduino Wireless Proto Shield is a great way to prototype wireless applications thanks to its XBee compatible socket, prototyping area and sd card connector. The wireless module can be used to create a network of Arduino boards. Solder parts to the prototyping area to create a project and use the SD-card to store data that can be easily transferred to a computer.

The shields breaks out each of the shield's pins to a through-hole solder pad. It also provides female pin headers for all the Arduino pins.

Q. is it compatible with all arduino boards (including the AT Mega2560)?

A. Hi Lak. Thank you for your question. This Arduino Wireless Proto Shield Xbee is compatible with all boards that have the same footprint so it would not connect well with the SMD versions.

So i purchased this board because it was required so i can get the XBee working and was not disappointed, lots of connectors and the XBee fits in perfectly. Also the box it came with included a black sponge so it keeps the pins from bending, and stickers!
