Discontinued

This electric desoldering iron melts and removes solder quickly and easily.

It replaces the conventional method of desoldering components, by combining a desolder pump and a 230V mains powered soldering iron into one easy to use tool.

To operate, the plunger is pressed down until it locks, the iron tip is applied to the solder joint, the plunger is then released, sucking the molten solder from the joint.

  • Power approx. 40W
  • Suitable for lead and lead-free solder
  • Vacuum pump can be operated with one hand
  • Fitted long life tip
  • For best results allow to warm up for approx. 10 minutes before use
  • Complete with 1.5m of mains cable and 13A UK mains plug fused at 3A

The soldering iron may give off non-hazardous fumes for approximately 30 minutes on first use.
Type Desoldering pump

Very good

My friend asked me about this tool as he knew I had one. Like any soldering tool it needs to be kept clean. I clean the tip with the Tip Tinner/cleaner and when it first starts to loose suction I clean the tube with a length of stiff wire to remove the baked on debris. Compared to the professional tools I used as a service engineer the only draw back is the time to heat up, but they were 10 times the cost many years ago

Very poor.

This desoldering iron is something that seems like a good idea in theory but this implementation is frustrating at best. It worked OK for about an hour in total, but now it just makes a mess. The nozzle tip is already worn (soft metal) and molten solder hangs around the inside instead of being collected in the body of the unit. Suction is now poor and if anything more solder ends up on the job (drawn from the nozzle) than being removed! Tried cleaning, filing tip etc - this helped for a few more minutes use, then back to being rubbish.
