SMD wirewound resistors offer high precision power

Compact, reliable and robust, Arcol's RWS Series of precision power wirewound resistors are uniquely designed to meet the needs of the ever increasing power requirements of resistors in surface mount applications. Their thermal design has been optimized to provide a greater heat reduction efficiency, resulting in a lower surface temperature rise when compared with other SMD power resistors.

The RWS Series comprises 0.5W, 1W, 3W, 5W, 7W and 10W devices. The 1% tolerance option (0.5W, 1W, 3W, 5W) features low TCR and high overload capability for surge and pulse applications.

When first released by Arcol for increased power handling capability, the 7W and 10W (5% tolerance) versions set new high power standards for SMD resistors and are still among the most powerful resistors of their type on the market. Their optimised thermal design gives greater efficiency and improved surge capacity, while at the same time reducing surface temperature rise and long term thermal damage to boards and adjacent electronic components.
