Regular training sessions for EV charging installers

Regular training sessions for EV charging installers
Rapid held its inaugural EV charging training day in September. Held in partnership with Schneider Electric, the course was attended by EV installers & electrical contractors from across the UK, including representatives from companies such as Armstrong Renewables and Tectonic Digital Systems.

The training included all aspects of the specification, installation, operation & maintenance of Schneider's EV charging units, which are available to buy from Rapid. The training was conducted by Schneider Electric's Amit Chopra, an expert on the company's EV charging technology.

Among the topics covered were the various installation options available, including the EVlink range of wall and floor mounted charging stations, the capacity the units have to be networked and the payment services and back end solutions with which Schneider's units can be integrated. Key to the Schneider EV charging service is its 'Dynamic Energy Management' system, which provides a solution for residential and commercial buildings with a multi-charging setup. If the number of electric vehicles being charged simultaneously has the potential to exceed a site's maximum power output, the amount of current allocated to each charger will be reduced accordingly so that it remains within the building's usual load.

"The event was very successful", said Bill Lowther, Rapid's EV Business Development Manager. "Some contractors had travelled from as far afield as Scotland and Newcastle to attend and the feedback I have received has been very positive. Amit was an excellent trainer and we have more training days arranged over the coming months as we look to grow our network of EV installers. There is huge potential to develop the UK's EV charging infrastructure over the next few years and we are determined to give installers working with Rapid access to every opportunity."

Training days are being held on a regular basis for both Schneider and EO Charging units. To book your place please email Madeleine.White@rapidonline.com. When you book a Schneider course you will receive a voucher which can be used to claim £400 off the cost of Schneider EV charging equipment.
