Rapid helps Walsall College fit out new £2m engineering & construction centre
Rapid was delighted to help supply equipment for Walsall College's new £2m Digital Engineering Skills Centre, recently opened for the start of the new academic year. The building has been specially designed to address the skills gap within the engineering and construction industry, and is expected to meet the year on year growth in demand for training in those sectors.

The centre was launched to mark 2018's "Year of the Engineer" and significantly expands the college's ability to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in engineering, manufacturing and technology, which offer tangible long term opportunities to people in the West Midlands region.

From an initial enquiry, Rapid's education team quoted the college on an extensive range of items, and won an order worth over £31,000 in total. The products supplied included oscilloscopes, function generators, soldering equipment, electronic project kits, Arduino boards, PSUs and tools.

"The products supplied by Rapid will help our technicians and teachers make this a leading centre of digital engineering education", said a spokesperson for Walsall College. "We are grateful to Rapid's James Haley, who did so much to support us during the procurement process."

Rapid's competitive pricing and comprehensive range of products makes the company popular as a supplier for computing, engineering and technology departments.
