Prizes for electronics engineering students
Electronics engineering students from Queen Mary University of London recently demonstrated their skills in an engineering challenge sponsored by Rapid.

The second year students were taking part in a Design and Build project, in which they were tasked to work in small groups to design a vertical plotter with wireless control. Students were also judged on adding their creative touches to the solution.

Rapid has sponsored this event for several years and the teams in first and second place won Rapid vouchers and tool kits. Khalid Rajab, Kamyar Mehran and Matthew Tang, the three academic judges, said: "It is very impressive at this stage of their degree to see a high level of group organisation and project planning in addition to the impressive level of technical abilities demonstrated with creativity and innovation."

Edward Keith, Rapid Education's Business Development Manager for the South of England, attended the event.

The Electronics Engineering and Computer Science department at the University sees Rapid as one of its key suppliers.

"Rapid offers projects like this a real effective solution for purchasing components for the students", said Ho Huen, Electronics Teaching Lab Manager. "It is easy to find components at a great price, so we always encourage students to use
Rapid for their projects. One of the great advantages with Rapid is the quick turn around and the ability to order late in the day for next day delivery."
