On Wednesday September 19th Rapid and Schneider’s EV Academy training day takes place at Rapid’s headquarters in Colchester, Essex. The postcode for your satnav is CO4 5JS.
Q. What is the timetable for the day?
9.30am-3.30pm
- Opening brief by Bill Lowther, EV Business Development Manager, Rapid Electronics
- Introduction to Schneider EV charging
- Installation Options
- Ancillary Products
- Dynamic Energy Management
- Back End Supervision
- Billing Options
- AOB - Next Steps/Questions
Q. What will you get out of this course?
The main course takeaway will be a fuller appreciation of the EV solution Schneider can provide for customers. Attendees will learn the key features of Schneider’s EVlink range of charging stations, their suitability for specific environments and the unique aspects of Schneider’s "Dynamic Energy Management System". Schneider makes it possible to avoid having to add more volume to your facility’s power supply to cope with the load of charging multiple electric vehicles at the same time.
Q. Who would benefit most from attending?
- Electrical contractors who are looking to move into EV charging installation as part of their regular work
- Construction companies
- Facilities managers
- Technical service providers seeing the opportunities in this new market
- EV installers seeking to broaden the range of products they supply
Q. Will this course be all someone needs to start installing Schneider EV chargers?
No.
Before any contractor is eligible to install EV chargers as part of Rapid’s installation network they need to have attended and passed a suitable City & Guilds or NICEIC electrical vehicle charging course. The NICEIC course covers the installation of EV charging points including compliance with the requirements of BS7671, the Electrical Safety Quality and Continuity Regulations and the new IET Code of Practice. But we strongly recommend that our registered and prospective installers do attend our course before they start any Schneider commissions.
Q. How do you pay for Rapid’s EV training day?
We have a payment package that is attractive to customers wishing to commit to our program. The training course costs £400 – but this covers the attendance of up to four members of staff from the same organisation. You will be issued with a voucher which can be used to claim £400 off the cost of Schneider EV charging equipment purchased from Rapid. So actually the training day is free.
