The Pi CAP is an add-on board that brings capacitive sensing to the Raspberry Pi platform. It adds precise capacitive touch, distance sensing and high quality audio functions to any Raspberry Pi with a 40-pin GPIO connector.
It is very quick and simple to connect a Raspberry Pi to the physical world via the Pi CAP. The board has 12 capacitive sensing electrodes for conductive material such as wire, foil strips, copper track, conductive paint and crocodile clips. It is then a simple matter to control sounds, videos and more. The 40-pin GPIO connector for the Raspberry Pi, and 84 hole prototyping pad makes it easy to connect additional sensors or buttons for more advanced projects. The Pi CAP features a 3.5mm stereo jack with an audio signal powerful enough to drive headphones.
