Weve had one of these for about 4 years and it is much better than our earlier bubble-etch system and nothing like as messy. The Rota-spray is quick at 1min 30sec for each PCB side. The spray tube has holes which can sometimes block and leave a streak but it is not a problem with routine maintenance and easy to work around if it happens. You just invert the board and etch it again. The spray machine contains the vapour from warm (45Deg C) Ferric Chloride solution which could be highly damaging to metal fixtures and screws in the room. I use a plastic strip at the top where there is a small gap which can leak a small amount of spray during operation. Air quality regulations are important. In a small room, all that is needed is an expelair fan to an outside window. Air quality tests have shown this to be more than adequate. The built-in sink is very handy but you have to be scrupulously clean or it will stain. What is missing is an additional bath for tin plating solution, needed for surface-mount work. Our line-up is Developer (25 deg C), Etch-resist strip solution (45 deg C), Rotaspray with Ferric Chloride (45 deg C) and a seperate bath with tin solution at room temperature.
