Electronic cable manufacturer Finisar is displaying its new CXP-to-QSFP active breakout device at the SuperComputing 2009 exhibition.
The optical cable contains a CXP transceiver at one end and three 40Gb/s Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus connections at the other, combining to make the first 120Gb/s device of its type.
The switches are high-density and are compliant with CXP and QSFP specifications, providing a hot-pluggable, low-power, low-weight and flexible solution for high port-count network topologies, according to the company.
Finisar will also be demonstrating a 10Gb/s Ethernet electronic copper cable, designed for applications requiring a high-speed data transfer connection over short distances and at a reduced cost.
A new HDMI 1.4 compliance test suite from Tektronix was recently taken up by the Panasonic Authorised Test Centre, where it will reduce the time spent checking cables for faults as well as offering greater performance and fewer errors.
