Assembly manufacturers looking for a method to test their high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cables may be interested in a new product from Tektronix.
The HDMI 1.4 compliance test suite was recently taken up by the Panasonic Authorised Test Centre, where it will reduce the time spent checking the cables for faults as well as offering greater performance and fewer errors.
When selling HDMI devices, manufacturers must check that they comply with other products through utilising standard production techniques, according to the firm, and the new suite will cater for these needs.
Hiroyuki Iitsuka, manager of the format verification laboratory for Panasonic, said: "We must demand the highest quality test and measurement instruments and solutions which are fundamental to ensure compliance with the HDMI Compliance Test Specification 1.4."
The SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Colorado, US, recently saw electronic cable manufacturer PPC exhibit its new Locking HDMI Cable, which help keep the device in its sockets.
