A new capacitor from electronic components manufacturer AVX is capable of providing a solution for data communication (DC) problems.
The GX series capacitors are designed for use in broadband applications involving semiconductor DC, receive optical subassemblies and trans-impedance amplifiers, according to the firm.
Capable of fixing problems with blocked frequencies between 16kHz and 40GHz, the components are orientation insensitive and offer low insertion and return losses while allowing data to travel through more flexibly.
The capacitors are available with nickel-gold and nickel-tin terminations and comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances regulations, Electronics Talk reported.
AVX recently launched its MIL QPL range of capacitors, designed for use in military or aviation applications and boasting ultra-low equivalent series resistance and inductance.
With an operating temperature range between minus 55 degrees C and 125 degrees C, the capacitors can withstand the tough conditions of such applications.
