Alpha Wire's reputation for industry-leading innovation has been enhanced with the release of EcoWire™, a new range of environmentally friendly Hook-Up wire. EcoWire™ uses a flexible insulation alternative to PVC - modified polyphenylene ether (mPPE), which is inherently lighter, tougher, smaller and more flame resistant than PVC. It is non-halogenic and contains no heavy metal pigments.
EcoWire™ is an excellent alternative in hook-up wire, affording significant space and weight savings over PVC counterparts, while offering ten times better abrasion and pinch resistance. Because mPPE contains no halogens, phthalates, or heavy metals, it meets RoHS and WEEE requirements for the elimination of hazardous substances and recyclability. Every application is critical so cable and wire failure is not an option, particularly where the safety of equipment and personnel is concerned.

Rapid can offer EcoWire™ in sizes from 28AWG (0.07 mm²) to 10AWG (5.37 mm²) with solid or stranded tinned copper conductors, in 30.5 and 305m reels. Rated for operating temperatures to 105°C, this superior wire is available in most sizes and constructions, in both small and large volumes. It is recommended that 30.5 reels would be suitable for first-time users.
