The Light Stitches Gingerbread Man Kit is a KS3 Design and Make project aimed at year 8s so it is also suitable for lower ability Year 9s and higher ability year 7s. It is available as a Class Pack of 30 kits complete with lesson plans and 10-week scheme of work.
It uses smart textiles and electronic components to turn on up to 3 lights (LEDs) when the soft switch is pressed. The Gingerbread Man Kit uses smart conductive thread allowing connections to be easily made by simply tying a knot or sewing around the LEDs and other components.
