They will be called upon to solve a murder mystery using a combination of forensic science tools such as fibre and soil composition analysis, density analysis, insect identification, and chemical analysis.

I have used this kit with my year 10 pupils and I can't think of another resource recently which has got them more excited about science. The students not only learnt about DNA structure and extraction, the investigation stimulated their creative thinking, teamwork skills and ability to interpret data. I now have a class of budding forensic scientists!
