29 October 2018 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-1828
Q. The black output terminal nut has broken on my unit, can I purchase a replacement?
A. Hi Paul, thank you for your question. We do not list replacement parts I'm afraid.

01 August 2016 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-1828
Q. how many watts
A. Hi Dav, thank you for your question. This will give a max of 15V at 40A. Power is volts x amps, therefore the power is 600W.

20 April 2016 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-1828
Q. What current range does it provide? ie does it have a 3-15v / 0-25A and a 3-15 v / 0-40A output?
A. Hi Renee, thank you for your question. 85-1828 is a 3 to 15V 40A switch mode power supply.

08 July 2015 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-1828
Q. Can you tell me what the values are for over volt and amp draw please
A. Hi Glenn, thank you for your question. This unit has an over volt protection rated at 16.5V the manufacturer does not mention any over current protection for this unit, please see the data sheet for more information.

20 May 2014 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-1828
Q. I would like to know if this power supply could cope with swinging current demand. I want to use it on a 3D printer and the problem is the heated bed which draws around 10 amps. It switches on and off by thermostatic control. Does this power supply expect the current draw to be constant.
A. Hi Andrew. Thank you for your question. This switched mode bench supply should be able to cope with the intermittent current demands you speak of.

28 September 2011 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-1828
Q. hi can two of these be used in series for 30 volt 40 amp? i have one of your 30v 30 amp version but would need 2 of these if i cannot use the smaller ones in series as i need to run two chargers using 20 amp each but need to run at 28v thanks
A. Hi Kyle Thank you for you enquiry - there is no reason why you can't do this for the supply side - on the charger side they would need to be connected in parallel

Great for 3D printing

Reviewed by: Andrew - 29 May 2014
I bought this to power a 3d printer. From the forums for 3d printers it appeared that the power requirements could be around 20 amps. The 40 amp version of the power supply was plenty and works well. I would recommend this PSU for 3d printing.

Fantastic unit and excellent build quality.

This is an excellent PSU, it's very stable - the voltage doesn't drift, it performs within the specifications well and the build quality is very good and sturdy. Perfect for any low voltage high current application : eg. CB Radios, Model Railways and Slot Cars, LiPo / LiFe Battery Chargers It has a single 80mm cooling fan mounted on the rear panel of the unit which unfortunately doesn't appear to be load or heat controlled so runs continuously even off load but isn't noisy. The unit has an average Efficiency Rating of over 80% and as this is probably at max load, I would assume it is much greater at lower demands. I would highly recommend this unit for any workshop or hobbyist situation.
