This USB 3.0 card reader with eSATA and USB panel from Akasa is a multi-card reader with USB 3.0 speed, offering five slots for connecting different card formats that can be read and written. This also applies to SD, CF, and MS, while modern high-capacity cards (SDHC/SDXC) are additionally supported.
The AK-ICR-17 combines the capabilities of a card reader with the function of a 3-port USB 2.0 hub, plus two USB 3.0 and two eSATA ports. All ports are connected directly to the motherboard internally via headers.
The card reader is designed for internal installation and occupies a 3.5in slot. Data transfer and power supply are performed via an internal USB connection and an additional 4-pin Molex connection. A further special feature is the possibility of actively using up to three of the card slots at the same time, therefore performing cross-format data transfers.
