The Chipmaster Compact from ABI is a hand held digital IC tester which will identify and functionally verify a wide range of devices from many popular digital IC families including TTL, CMOS, memories and Interface devices. Using the Chipmaster is simplicity itself. The IC is simply inserted into the device via the wide entry ZIF socket and keying in the integral keypad and the test executed. Results are displayed quickly and clearly on the integral display. The inherent simplicity of operation virtually eliminates operator errors. An extensive library of TTL, CMOS, Memory and other devices of up to 40 pins has been built up over several years and this is included as standard software with the unit. The Chipmaster is able to locate intermittent and temperature related faults by using its loop and conditional loop tests saving hours of valuable time. The Chipmaster may be used to identify unknown or house-marked devices. By simply selecting search from the menu, selecting the number of pins of the device and activating Searchmode the Chipmaster will search its library and identify the device, displaying possible functional equivalents for replacement.
