This has long been the electronic industries first choice for a soldering iron and forms part of a soldering station. The simple way one can change bits to make the iron suitable to take on almost any kind of job found in electronic manufacturing and repairs had been its main feature. The bits are magnetic and when the working temperature is reached the bit looses its magnetic properties. A sensor in the barrel then switches off or on the current flow through the element. Another feature which makes this iron my number one choice is the fact all the parts of this iron is available from Rapid as spare parts with the exception of the handle. If I didn't have my TCP then I'm sure I would go into depression.
