Makers of all ages expected at second Ipswich Raspberry Jam
Rapid is delighted to be sponsoring the second Ipswich Raspberry Jam later this month.
The event will take place on Saturday 27th February at the Waterfront Building, University Campus Suffolk, Ipswich from 10am-4pm. Following the success of the inaugural event held last August, organisers the Ipswich Makerspace were able to secure a larger venue, and the Jam has attracted an impressive schedule of guest speakers, exhibitors and attractions. The format of the day is also a little different. Rather than a morning session for beginners and an afternoon session for more experienced users, a ticket qualifies the holder to all day admittance.
Makers of all ages are expected to attend, share their skills and find inspiration in the knowledge and projects of other Raspberry Pi enthusiasts.
Stephen Chalkley, of the Ipswich Makerspace, said: "We’ve packed our second Pi Jam with technology. There will be robots, 3D printers, a giant LED screen, a home automation demo and a mind controlled car racing game! We’ll be using the building's lecture theatre as well, with all its audio visual gear for our talks. I’ll be talking about what goes on in the Makerspace, plus there will be talks on Pi coding, and Minecraft. At the Makerspace we really want to encourage children and adults to get involved with technology and coding by showing what can be achieved with modern gadgets."
"The first Jam was great fun and we’re working hard to make this one even better."
