Power resistors are made for applications demanding high levels of voltage – at least 2W, but in some cases up to 300W. Available in traditional ceramic, aluminium clad, carbon and metal formats, in axial, radial and wirewound packages. The small size and low thermal resistance of power resistors makes these electronic components suitable for high frequency circuits and wide band/linear amplifiers, switch mode and industrial RF power sources, AC motor control, electronic load and drive circuits, automotive and RF circuit terminations.
