Solid state relays (SSRs) provides a similar function to electromechanical relays, increasing long term reliability. However SSRs are also characterised by small voltage drops, so solid state relays can only handle a lower level of current. Rapid’s range of IMO solid state relays have a wide feature set, including built-in snubbers, AC and DC outputs, insulation resistance and photo isolation, and are available in SIL and DIL packages for panel and PCB mounting.
