Pipe-clip temperature sensors

One Star (Filled)One Star (Filled)One Star (Filled)One Star (Filled)One Star (Filled)

A range of pipe-clip temperature sensors that have been designed for the measurement and control of hot and cold water systems. Its integral spring steel clip can be used to mount the sensor onto metal pipes, ensuring the sensing portion is held tight against the pipe wall enabling quick and accurate temperature measurement of the liquid inside the pipe thus eliminating the need for any invasive holes. Applications include air-conditioning systems, domestic gas boilers, water saving devices for hotels, pubs, etc,

  • For quick, simple and accurate temperature measurement
  • Fast response sensor within a PBT housing
  • Integral spring steel clip
  • Push on terminals
  • Simple to install
  • High moisture resistance
  • For pipes with diameter from 12 to 22mm
  • ATC Semitec CH series

Question by Abz

QCould this be used to control a extractor fan on top of a shower by connecting it to the hot water supply to the shower? What connectors would i need if possible?
AHi Abz, thanks for your question. This could be used as a sensor to control the fan – but would need something between the fan and the sensor to interpret what is “acceptable” ie when to turn it on and off. A possible connector would be 33-1047 (2.8 x 0.5) A flow switch could be an alternative – but this would be on whenever the water is flowing, they are more difficult to install though and are permanent .http://www.rapidonline.com/Electronic-Components/Flow-switch-copper-75123/

Great little clip on thermistor. I bought 4 of varying sizes, as unsure of pipe clipping ability. The clip sizes vary, but the sensor heads can interchange easily. The resistance varied between them for the same temperature, but gave a variance of less than 1 degree when wired to the boiler. Got my Jaguar boiler up and running in less than 30 minutes.
