This LCD driver module provides a simple and efficient method of interfacing any RS232 or I²C device with a backlit LCD module. The module enables complete control of character placement, cursor placement and backlight functions. Controlled by a Flash-based PIC microcontroller the module can be programmed to developer specific requirements. Suitable applications include instrumentation, communications equipment, industrial control, door entry systems, etc.
- Driver supports LCD panels with RGB backlight (up to 256 colours)
- Driver has small footprint to piggy-back on LCD module
- Simple RS232 serial or I²C transfer of characters to the display from PC, BASIC stamp, OOPic and other microcontroller languages
- Serial/I²C selectable backlight colour and brightness level, number of lines and serial baud rate
- LCD contrast variable with on-board control
- Low power operation from regulated or unregulated supply
- Supports 16 x 2, 20 x 2, 40 x 2 and 20 x 4 LCD modules
- Short learning curve for immediate results
- EMC compliance to 89/336/EEC
