QWill these lamps operate from a transformer with a dimmer?
AHi Dave, these will operate from a transformer but are not dimmable.

Question by Matthew | Product code: 55-2035

QI wish to wire up two of these for a lamp. Do I need a driver or will a standard 12V Ac-Dc transformer suffice?
AThanks for your enquiry Matthew. A standard DC transformer will be enough to run these.

Question by Tony C | Product code: 55-2035

QAt the moment I have 5x 20 watt halogen mr16, can I fit these LEDs without any problems? Also will there be much light difference to the halogen bulbs
AProviding your original halogen MR16 are 12V supply then they are interchangeable. It's not possible to compare brightness as 20W is the amount of energy they produce and is not directly connected to the amount of light they produce. I can tell you that they have a 30Deg view angle which is similar to that of the 20W coloured Halogen units we stock.

Question by Matthew Jennings | Product code: 55-2035
13th February 2012

QJust to check these run off 12V DC not AC, correct? And if I wanted to run 2 of these, what power supply should I use, and do I need a separate driver too, if so do you sell an appropriate one? thanks Matthew
AHi Matthew, thanks for your question. These products will run from AC or DC as they are intended as replacements for halogen lamps. There is a rectifier built in allowing for AC or Dc operation.

Question by PoD O | Product code: 55-2035

QDo you supply a lamp driver / transformer module suitable for these ?
AHi Derek, thanks for your question. Our technical department have advised that 55-1975 would run 5 of these bulbs, if you need more a standard power supply would be required. http://www.rapidonline.com/Electronic-Components/20w-Variable-Microdriver-LED-Driver-55-1975/
