A. Hi John, thanks for your question. These MR16 led bulbs work on both AC or DC so there is no problem.
Q. Will these lamps operate from a transformer with a dimmer?
A. Hi Dave, these will operate from a transformer but are not dimmable.
Q. I wish to wire up two of these for a lamp. Do I need a driver or will a standard 12V Ac-Dc transformer suffice?
A. Thanks for your enquiry Matthew. A standard DC transformer will be enough to run these.
Q. At the moment I have 5x 20 watt halogen mr16, can I fit these LEDs without any problems? Also will there be much light difference to the halogen bulbs
A. Providing your original halogen MR16 are 12V supply then they are interchangeable. It's not possible to compare brightness as 20W is the amount of energy they produce and is not directly connected to the amount of light they produce. I can tell you that they have a 30Deg view angle which is similar to that of the 20W coloured Halogen units we stock.
Q. 55-2035 is this unit dimmable ?
A. Hi Paul, thanks for your question. This version is not dimmable.
Q. Just to check these run off 12V DC not AC, correct? And if I wanted to run 2 of these, what power supply should I use, and do I need a separate driver too, if so do you sell an appropriate one? thanks Matthew
A. Hi Matthew, thanks for your question. These products will run from AC or DC as they are intended as replacements for halogen lamps. There is a rectifier built in allowing for AC or Dc operation.
