The Epson Toyocom RX-4045SA module is a serial interface real-time clock that features a built-in 32.768kHz crystal oscillator that has been designed to give a high precision, high stability output. Due to its design, where the internal oscillation circuitry is driven at a constant voltage, the clock output is stable and free of voltage fluctuation effects. Additional features include six types of interrupts, a dual alarm function, an oscillation stop detection function (used to determine the presence of valid internal data at power-on) and a digital clock precision adjustment function that can be used to set various levels of precision. The implementation of multiple functions in one compact SMT package makes this device ideal for applications ranging from mobile phones to PDAs and other small and handheld electronic devices.
