QAre these equivalent in light output to a 50W GU10 or would I need the 6W version?

AHi Geoff, The beam of these will be narrower and not quite the same. These are ideal as decorative lighting but not as light to work by. You may need 2 or 3 of these to light the same area as halogen due to the differences in the angle of the beam.

QCan these LED lights be used with a dimmer in circuit, because until they are a lot of people will not use them. Are these any different?

AHi, thanks for your question. Unless specify differently - all LED replacement lamps will require pulse width modulator style dimmers to dim effectively.
