Q. what does 4u7 mean?
A. Hi Prince. Thank you for your question. The method of designation used here is similar for a range of products – but most typically capacitors and resistors. The letter acts as a decimal point so that it is not overlooked or confused – in this instance 4.7 compared to 47 say. The letter denotes the unit multiple for capacitors: P= pf or picofards n-=nf or nanofarad u = uf or microfarads etc for resistors R = unity or 1 so 1R7 = 1.7 Ohms (this is particularly useful as few keyboards have Omega as a symbol) K = Kilo – or 1000’s M= Mega or Millions I hope this helps.
