I have the 40A version of this PSU. I am a Radio Ham so I usually shy away from switch mode PSU's due to issues with RF noise generation. I have two Linear 24A Yaesu FP1030's for my two 100W radio sets, but I needed a higher current device to run my high power Digital ATV transmitter. I was suprised at first to notice tat the fan runs contineously, but as it is so quiet this is not a poblem. The PSU runs cool, it easily copes with contineous current at 15A there is no dicernable RF noise generation and it s pervectly stable in an environment with RF amplifiers. I now want tompurchase the 30v/30A version for another amplifier, so hurry up Rapid and get this model back in stock! Recommended PSU.

I have been using one of these on a professional basis for 5 years now on a daily basis charging batteries and powering motor vehicle systems whilst they are being worked on or configured . No problems at all and never get warm even .
great for automotive use when the pre-set 13.8v switch is used .
The unit is always in demand and moved about from job to job ..
Highly recommended ..great value for money...

This is an excellent PSU, it's very stable - the voltage doesn't drift, it performs within the specifications well and the build quality is very good and sturdy. Perfect for any low voltage high current application :
eg. CB Radios, Model Railways and Slot Cars, LiPo / LiFe Battery Chargers
It has a single 80mm cooling fan mounted on the rear panel of the unit which unfortunately doesn't appear to be load or heat controlled so runs continuously even off load but isn't noisy.
The unit has an average Efficiency Rating of over 80% and as this is probably at max load, I would assume it is much greater at lower demands.
I would highly recommend this unit for any workshop or hobbyist situation.

We acquired 4 of these units to power our 4 lane slotcar track that runs cars that draw 1-12 amps. Have been using these over a year now and no issues! excelent price.
