Many species of butterfly need a place to spend the winter or hibernate. Some require a site to complete the chrysalis transformation stage and at least one species may use the habitat to lay eggs in.

  • Habitat provides a suitable environment for these periods in the butterfly life cycle
  • Design includes special ramps or ledges, which are important for butterflies to stand on whilst they warm their wings, prior to flight
