This robot is a real walker, but its ingenious design uses only two standard hobby servos to walk forwards, backwards and turn left or right.

  • One servo transfers the weight from one foot to the other, whist the second servo moves the legs
  • Simple bumper wires are fitted to the feet to detect obstacles
  • Software enables Bigfoot to walk forwards until its toe hits an object, where it will reverse and turn either left or right
  • Supplied with an additional software routine that can make Bigfoot walk in a pre-determined sequence
  • Body parts are pre-cut 3mm plywood for strength, lightness and accurate assembly
  • Powered by four AA cells (not supplied), see Batteries section The kit contains:
  • Pre-cut body parts
  • 2 hobby servos
  • Pre-assembled and tested electronics board
  • Hardware, software diskette and assembly manual
  • Height when built: approx. 30cm
